On September 27, 2024 our region was hit by the remnants of Hurricane Helene. Widespread flooding, wind damage and mudslides caused roads to wash away and entire towns to disappear. In Northeast Tennessee, the areas most impacted are Washington, Carter, Unicoi, Johnson and Greene Counties. The United Ways of Northeast Tennessee are assisting in the local disaster recovery efforts.
A Disaster Relief Fund has been created by United Way of East Tennessee Highlands to provide additional funds to non-profits assisting with disaster response. 100% of this fund will be distributed among all effected counties and no administrative fees will be taken. Click below to donate.
